Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Neqra ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Neqra mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information we collect

Account information
When you register, we collect your phone number and/or email address, display name, and password (stored securely on our servers as a one-way hash—we never store your plain-text password).

Device information
To enforce our one-device-per-account policy, we collect a device identifier and an optional device label you provide at login.

Usage and preferences
We store reading preferences on your device. If you are signed in, we sync subscription status and account settings from our servers.

Offline content
When you download surahs for offline use, text and audio are stored locally on your device until you remove downloads or uninstall the app.

Payment information
Premium subscriptions are processed through third-party payment providers (such as Chapa). We do not store your full card or mobile-money credentials. We may receive transaction references, payment status, and receipt images you upload for manual verification.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to provide the app, enforce device binding and subscription rules, process payments, send password-reset codes, and improve security.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with hosting providers, payment processors, and authorities when required by law. Quran audio may load from trusted third-party CDNs when you stream online.

4. Data retention and security

We retain account data while your account is active. We use HTTPS, secure token storage on device, and password hashing on our servers.

5. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.

6. Your choices and contact

You may update profile information, remove offline downloads, sign out, or contact support to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law allows. Use the support email on the About screen.
